Why Should I Return If I’m Feeling Fine?

You entered our office feeling terrible and now your problems are a thing of the past. You’d be happy to return if your health deteriorates to the point where you have similar symptoms. But we suggest you return even if you feel fine. "Why can’t I return only when I’m feeling bad?" you may ask.

"I Feel Fine" Health Care

How you feel is not always a good indication of how healthy you are; in fact you may feel fine while life-threatening vertebral subluxations (spinal nerve stresses) are damaging your body. We’ve all seen people looking like death warmed over who "feel fine." They "feel fine" but have no energy; "feel fine" but sleep poorly; "feel fine" but are tired, have aches and pains, headaches or backaches.

But Why Do I need So Many Adjustments?

Most people first visit their chiropractor after they’ve had years of long-standing spinal subluxations. By that time scar tissue builds up around the spinal discs, nerves and joints and causes spinal degeneration. This tissue is much more sensitive than normal tissue (2) and that’s one reason why 86% of those in automobile accidents still feel pain ten years after the accident-the scar tissue is still there. (2) That’s why tender muscle areas (trigger or tender spots) develop. (3) You may "feel fine" but when someone touches a "Hot Spot", you jump! Though your symptoms may disappear after a few spinal adjustments, the spinal degeneration takes longer to clear up for most people and your spine is still unhealthy. Because of that there’s a good chance that you’ll be back in our office with symptoms that may take longer to go away (I don’t understand it doctor, the last time I felt better after a couple of visits…").

Why settle for less?

Many people visit their doctor of chiropractic only when they’re sick or in pain. That’s a lot better than resorting to drugs or surgery, but chiropractic has so much more to offer. Keep your spine free of vertebral subluxations so it may continue healing and so that you’ll have a healthier body, with less stress, more energy and greater resistance to disease. Why be content to be merely free from pain when you can also ensure better health, vitality and strength for yourself and your entire family for their entire lives?

Quotes of the Week

"The simple truth is that happy people generally don’t get sick." Bernie Siegel, MD

"I value the friend who for me finds time on his calendar, but I cherish the friend who for me does not consult his calendar." Robert Brault

What is The Difference Between Medicine and Chiropractic?

The medical and chiropractic approaches to healing are very different. Chiropractic’s goal is to remove a severe form of spine and nerve stress (the vertebral subluxation) from your body. Subluxations interfere with the proper function of your nervous system, including your brain, and can affect your physical and mental health. When your chiropractor corrects your subluxation, your natural healing ability or "inner healer" can function at greater efficiency. Your body/mind functions better and heals better.

The medical approach often takes the form of prescribing drugs to alter or suppress your symptoms, not to make your body work better. That’s why when you stop taking the drugs, your symptoms often come back. If drugs really made you healthy those taking the most of them should be the healthiest but look around, aren’t they the sickest? Does an antibiotic correct the body weakness that caused the bacteria to grow in the first place? Does cutting off the cancerous breast correct the metabolism or toxicity that caused the cancer to grow in the first place? Does lowering blood pressure with drugs correct the body malfunction that is raising the blood pressure? The answer to all these questions is no!

Drugs may be necessary at times in your life, but they are not healing you. Medicine may, at times, be necessary, but there’s much too much medicine, too much surgery and too many drugs. Millions of people are hospitalized each year due to reactions to prescription drugs and hundreds of thousands of people die each year from prescription drugs and medical mistakes. Medicine is a powerful form of health care and should only be used after safer, more natural healing methods have been tried.

Patient Testimonial

A patient in his mid thirties came in to see Dr. Maloof with severe back pain. He had been a patient 4 years prior and at that time had come in with such severe back pain, he could barely walk. Dr. Maloof adjusted him a few times and he felt better and went back to his normal schedule. Dr. Maloof recommended he continue with corrective care, even though the pain was gone. Dr. Maloof told him the problem would come back and it might even be worse if he didn’t come in regularly. Did he listen? No !!!

Now 4 years later he is back to see Dr. Maloof with back pain. He hurt his back while on vacation so he was in severe pain (not too fun to be in pain on vacation). He is feeling much better with Dr. Maloof’s treatments but he now knows that he should have continued care and is committed to getting his spine corrected. He even brought his wife and baby in to get care. He now believes in Chiropractic wellness care for his entire family!!

If you, a friend or family member would like a consultation please call my office and schedule a time.
