Chiropractic and Ear Infections
More and more parents are bringing their children with ear infections to chiropractors.  Studies such as this one show they are doing the right thing: 21 children (9 months to 9 years of age) with acute otitis media, red and bulging eardrums and a temperature of 100 degrees F had a short course of chiropractic care.
The children were re-examined and 95% of the eardrums had returned to normal along with a decrease in average temperature to 98.6 degrees F.  Before receiving the adjustments, the severity of the symptoms in the children was rated at an average of 7.524 on a 0-10 point scale.  After receiving the adjustments, the severity of the symptoms had subsided to a mere 0.470 on the same 0-10 point scale. Dr. Maloof has gentle techniques to treat children and they love getting adjusted.  There are also natural supplements to give your children so they don't have to rely on antibiotics which weaken their immune system.  These supplements will actually increase their body's own natural immunity to fight infections in the future.

Most Common Golf Injuries
Golf can be so much fun, but I see many injuries that can be helped and prevented.  The most common are golfer's elbow, tendonitis and rotator cuff shoulder injuries, carpal tunnel, neck stiffness, lower back pain and sciatica.  What most people don't realize is that PROPER MOTION IS ESSENTIAL FOR PROPER FUNCTION.
When joint function is impaired, there is a reduced range of motion, inflammation, calcium buildup, and scar tissue.  This can be caused by repetitive motions such as the golf swing and improper biomechanics of your swing, and forgetting to stretch before and after your game.
The traditional treatment of these problems involves splinting the joint to reduce movement, pain medications, muscle relaxers, steroid injections, and even surgery!  What else can be done?
Today, a more common sense approach is being taken.  Joint mobilization, like chiropractic care for the spine, is being used in the care of elbows, wrists, shoulders, knees, ankles, and other joints of the body.  Helping to restore normal range of motions to joints that have become "locked up", "jammed", or injured, seems to improve blood circulation, reduce scar tissue, and speed the healing process.
Dr. Maloof is uniquely trained to detect and help restore proper joint function of the spine and the extremities.  Find out if you can be helped by arranging for a consultation and thorough examination today!  Stop spending your time taking medications and waiting on the sidelines, it is time to get your health restored and get back in the game!
