Why has chiropractic become so popular?

Why has chiropractic become so popular? What is it about this healing art that started with one chiropractor and one patient in 1895 and is now the most widely used natural health profession in the world?

Chiropractic continues to grow because it works. It is effective, safe, and gentle, and respects the body’s natural healing and recuperative powers. As a drug-free, surgery-free alternative, it offers individuals a real choice in health care.

Chiropractic is now "in." Celebrities are going to them; professional and Olympic athletes are seeking them out; and, most important, families are visiting their neighborhood doctors of chiropractic for increased quality of life and for health without drugs and surgery.

Chiropractor Takes Home Bronze at 2002 Olympics

Doug Sharp, a Doctor of Chiropractic, has won the Olympic Bronze medal, along with his teammates, in Saturdays four-man Olympic bobsled race.

Dr. Doug was a part of the four-man U.S. Olympic bobsled team led by Brian Shimer. The U.S. men’s bobsled team had not won an Olympic medal since 1956. It is also of importance to note that Dave Juehring, Doctor of Chiropractic, served as the U.S. Bobsled team leader.

Speed Skater Derek Parra Wins Olympic Gold

Speed Skater Derek Parra became the first double medalist at the Olympic Speedskating oval when he broke the world record and won a gold medal in the Mens 1500 meters event. Parra has said he helps keep his body at its peak performance by receiving regular chiropractic care. "I’ve always been a proponent of Chiropractic Care," Parra said. "I’ve used a lot of other treatments for injuries and pain, but the problem doesn’t get fixed until I go to a Doctor of Chiropractic.

Parra, along with the other world-class athletes representing the United States in Salt Lake City, has had regular access to Chiropractic Care throughout the duration of the Games.

Peak Performance

Would you like to swim faster lap times? Reduce your golf handicap? Or, maybe you would like to improve your tennis game. You can! And, you can do it without changing your current nutrition or training program. How? Well…read on!

Not too long ago, a group of athletes were recruited to participate in a study. A variety of sports activities were represented and none had ever had any chiropractic care! Half of the participants were place on a chiropractic evaluation and care program. The other half continued with their normal activities.

The group receiving chiropractic care was instructed not to change their habits-other than the chiropractic care provided during the twelve week study. Here’s the result: The chiropractic athlete was able to perform 16.7% better from his original athletic abilities!

Think about it. No change in diet. No change in exercise. No change in activities. Just the addition of chiropractic and they could outperform their previous abilities by almost seventeen percent!

Patient Testimonial

Chiropractic helped me achieve physical greatness by making me more fit and positive. It made me improve my mile time from 8 minutes and 10 seconds to 6 minutes and 25 seconds. I also improved my hamstring stretching capability from 24 cm to 30 cm. I owe my success to Dr. Catherine. –Jon Laski- 7th Grade
